• Born in Karl-Marx-Stadt, today Chemnitz. Professional athlete in swimming and track and field
• After finishing High School (baccalaureate), training as journalist and work as editor at the daily newspaper „Maerkische Oderzeitung“.
• Followed by my law studies at the University of Bielefeld, Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg (France) and Karls University of Heidelberg. During my studies at the Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg I worked as assistant to the Christian Democratic deputy Elmar Brook at the European Parliament
• After the 1st state exam, I completed my Master studies “International Economic law” at Cardiff University, Wales followed by legal clerkship and 2nd state exam. Worked as assistant to the Secretary General of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport at Lausanne.
• Attorney for 5 years at the M&A Department at Jones Day, Frankfurt. At the same time finishing my Ph. D. thesis on international economic law at the Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf and pro-bono advisor to Special Olympics Germany e.V.
• From 2005 to 2011 CEO of the Marketing Association of the German Track and Field Association. 2005-2011 external attorney of the German Track and Field Association and Head of the Anti-Doping Coordination Office.
• Head of the Doping Control Management at the 2009 and 2011 IAAF Track and Field World Championship in Berlin and Daegu, respectively, and at other European Track and Field meets.
• 2006 to 2015 Member of the Juridical Commission of the International Track and Field Association IAAF and of the Medical and Anti-Doping Commission of the European Track and Field Association EA.
• 2007 to 2012 Member of the Juridical Commission at the National Anti-Doping Agency Germany
• Member of the Konstanz Work Group for Sports Law and of the Sports Law Group of the German Lawyers Association (Member of the executing management team), and Member and Vice President of the International Sport Lawyers Association.
• Member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the journal ‘Doping’
• Arbitrator at the German Sports Arbitration Court
• Professor at accadis University of Applied Sciences Bad Homburg (Private economic law/sports law & compliance), at the IST Management University of Applied Sciences Duesseldorf (sports management/anti-doping) and at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen (LL.M. sport law/liability and insurance)
